If there are children in the family, many professionals will will put them first and will know how to handle the case well. Everyone knows that the children must come first, no matter what amount of assets are at risk, and this should be kept in mind when choosing the professional in question. Visitation rights are often fought over dramatically but sometimes this is not in the best interest of the child or children. Perhaps one of the parents is an alcoholic or inveterate gambler so the other partner will automatically try to limit the time that the child or children are exposed to that person. Uncontested divorces, although much easier to contend with, do carry some hidden pitfalls that may not be obvious to the layman. So although the couple in question have agreed to the amicable split, a professional is absolutely needed to make sure all parties are catered for in an appropriate manner.
