The basics of Green Card Marriage

Plenty of aspirants each year try to get the citizenship of the US as it offers better standard of living as well as offering better environment to nurture your future. Most of them struggle in front of the visa offices and at the offices of agents who claim to get you a permanent green card, only to get conned.

There are many different methods of how a person can obtain a green card. Such as permanent employment or owning a business. But, the fastest and easiest way to get one is through marriage.

The US government will amend its laws to let the foreign spouses of a US resident to apply for a permanent citizenship of the US. This means that you can get a green card through marriage with a US national. Marriages help bring together couples and the government has sympathy for it. They will not make one partner stay in another country just because he or she is not a citizen of the US.

Many of US people who go around the world often end up marrying someone. Similarly, people who go to the US tend to love somebody and ultimately tie the knot. But then, there are some complications. You need to inform your government that you married a foreign national and intend to bring him or her to the US so that you both can stay together.

K-1 visa’s will be the first step if you live outside the US and you can apply for one at the US embassy. If children are in the picture then you’ll need a K-2 visa so your kids can travel as well. When you get the US you can then try and get a green card through marriage.

This step is not difficult and US government will take care of your spouses sentiments during the review process. You will have to endure an interview to explain your marriage and once that is finished you’ll receive a green card in about a month.
