K-1 visa’s will be the first step if you live outside the US and you can apply for one at the US embassy. If children are in the picture then you’ll need a K-2 visa so your kids can travel as well. When you get the US you can then try and get a green card through marriage.
This step is not difficult and US government will take care of your spouses sentiments during the review process. You will have to endure an interview to explain your marriage and once that is finished you’ll receive a green card in about a month.
