CPAs have to take a certain number of hours of ethics CPE courses each year in order to keep their license current. Taking similar courses from different providers could result in getting more information about the topic since not all courses will include exactly the same material. It is best to choose a course that has been recently updated (the course descriptions many times will say when it was updated) so that you will get the latest available information on the topic.

If you can’t make one of the in person classes, you just need to choose from the options that you can take in your own home, either through self study or over the internet. Most of these options require you to pass a short quiz afterwards to show that you have truly studied the material and understood the contents. Many in person ethics CPE and other CPE courses do not require any sort of test, just your presence during the course.
